This is an incomplete list of the effects of the "Stocked" checkbox on the Product Window in version 3.55:

When Unchecked:

• In general, quantities are not tracked in the system...
• Product info window shows 99,999 (configurable in future releases)
• Product will NOT be considered for replenish reports based on min-maxes (and PO generation based on these)
• Standard Orders (and maybe others?) do not show reserve for the product in Product info
• Purchase Orders do not show "On Order" in the product info window
• Stops the inventory warning when adding product to sales orders
• does not enforce that a productCost exists

When Checked:

• Prevents completing a sales order with a backorder ?

Other unexplored effects:

• recording costs when an item is delivered to a customer or returned (Sales / Sales Returns)??
• interacts with Material Movement Policy for costing
• BOM invoicing (Finished good = sum of material prices?)
• Combinations with Product Type:(Item vs. Service)

Buy-To-Order scenarios:

• Enable isStocked checkbox, and have min-maxes=zero
