(01:00:02) CarlosRuiz: Hi
(01:03:48) interopen [~interopen@xiancaro.com] entered the channel.
(01:11:37) hengsin [~hengsin@115.164.88.172] entered the channel.
(01:12:02) hengsin: hi all
(01:12:41) CarlosRuiz: Hi hengsin
(01:13:40) nwessel: hi
(01:14:23) nwessel: sorry for being late
(01:14:30) nwessel: did not check window
(01:14:43) CarlosRuiz: no problem
(01:15:04) hengsin: is this the release discussion ?
(01:15:11) CarlosRuiz: just starting
(01:15:36) hengsin: carlos, you added a topic to the architecture agenda which should really goes here
(01:15:55) hengsin: I means it belong more to the release group
(01:16:30) CarlosRuiz: the removal of html?
(01:17:07) hengsin: yes, that's not architecture related, just a release decision
(01:17:23) hengsin: html, posterita, etc
(01:18:11) CarlosRuiz: ok, moving task ...
(01:18:52) hengsin: will be back, need to reboot machine ...
(01:18:58) hengsin has left the channel ("Konversation terminated!").
(01:19:03) nwessel: so release group decides what is released in terms of content
(01:19:26) nwessel: e.g. like clean up adempiere start page?
(01:19:45) nwessel: http://localhost:8080/admin
(01:19:47) CarlosRuiz: yep - that sounds good also
(01:20:01) nwessel: I really would like to put effort into that
(01:20:14) nwessel: to make it look nice(er)
(01:20:22) CarlosRuiz: do we add a task about?
(01:21:28) CarlosRuiz: added #23
(01:21:54) nwessel: good
(01:22:27) CarlosRuiz: I guess we can mark some tasks as DONE
(01:22:50) CarlosRuiz: we have one outstanding pending task ->#19
(01:22:59) nwessel: yes
(01:23:00) CarlosRuiz: #19 -> Anouncing Release schedule and dates to community
(01:23:55) nwessel: I get it done until weekend. would that be ok?
(01:24:17) CarlosRuiz: sure - if you need help because of lack of time just let me know
(01:24:39) nwessel: help!
(01:24:42) nwessel: :-)
(01:25:03) CarlosRuiz: :-) ok - is it ok if I send you a proposal of the post for your review
(01:25:03) CarlosRuiz: you can change whatever you prefer and then post
(01:26:05) nwessel: ok, that is nice. thanks
(01:26:18) nwessel: but lets turn it around
(01:26:26) nwessel: I prepare one and send it you for review
(01:27:03) CarlosRuiz: whatever you prefer
(01:27:50) nwessel: ok
(01:28:07) CarlosRuiz: so, I'll check your proposal  ;-)
(01:28:16) nwessel: yes :-)
(01:28:26) CarlosRuiz: I guess we can mark some others as DONE
(01:28:34) CarlosRuiz: #2 is done, work in progress ...
(01:28:48) CarlosRuiz: #8 is done
(01:28:49) nwessel: yes
(01:29:17) CarlosRuiz: #11 is WIP
(01:29:21) nwessel: short question reg 8
(01:30:00) nwessel: do we have a concept besides irc chat?
(01:30:54) CarlosRuiz: do you mean if it's written or discussed elsewhere? I think not
(01:31:19) nwessel: ok
(01:31:26) nwessel: so best way would be:
(01:31:37) nwessel: 1. create wiki page as in #7
(01:31:39) nwessel: 2. anounce
(01:32:03) nwessel: agree?
(01:32:05) CarlosRuiz: yep - sounds better
(01:33:16) nwessel: agree with changes?
(01:33:25) CarlosRuiz: yep
(01:35:12) CarlosRuiz: #9 is done? I guess we discussed and found that we can move immediately, so we're moving
(01:38:08) CarlosRuiz: #11 and #14 sounds like duplicated
(01:38:21) CarlosRuiz: #15 is done
(01:39:37) nwessel: reg. 15
(01:39:44) nwessel: is there a page where I can see the rules?
(01:39:57) nwessel: I know that my colleagues have worked that day on triaging
(01:40:02) nwessel: but I was not at office
(01:40:23) CarlosRuiz: not rules - I defined the process
(01:40:27) CarlosRuiz: let me check the link ...
(01:40:51) CarlosRuiz: http://adempiere.com/index.php/Bug_Triage#Explanation_of_Bug_Triage_Process
(01:42:20) nwessel: nice, thx
(01:43:07) hengsin [~hengsin@115.164.88.172] entered the channel.
(01:44:03) CarlosRuiz: about #22
(01:44:16) CarlosRuiz: I think we have enough agreement to move out HTML UI
(01:44:40) CarlosRuiz: about posterita has not been openly discussed with community
(01:45:40) CarlosRuiz: the other candidate to "drop" (move to a contributions folder maybe) from adempiere is Content Management module - I don't know anybody using it here or in Compiere
(01:46:55) nwessel: hmm
(01:47:05) hengsin: compiere is still using that as they have develop it a lot since adempiere fork but the version in adempiere fork is not working, alpha status.
(01:47:29) nwessel: so then drop it
(01:47:42) nwessel: I do not think that CMS belongs to ERP anyway
(01:47:58) nwessel: and when it is alpha we need to drop it anyhow
(01:48:08) nwessel: for the simple reason that we want a "maintained release"
(01:48:25) nwessel: every feature that does not has a cleary defined and active maintainer needs to be dropped
(01:48:27) hengsin: that's debatable but not the point here - it is not maintain and broken, lets move it out
(01:48:54) CarlosRuiz: yep - same thinking as hengsin
(01:48:55) hengsin: we can create an archive folder for that
(01:49:11) hengsin: not to pollute "real contribution" that's pending review.
(01:49:30) CarlosRuiz: moving out the classes is no problem - but what abt the dictionary?
(01:50:04) hengsin: mark inactive ?
(01:50:26) nwessel: provide a special migration script that deletes it?
(01:50:38) nwessel: but provide how-to etc.
(01:50:50) nwessel: would reduce number of tables
(01:51:28) CarlosRuiz: I think mark inactive is appropiate - next run of GenerateModel won't generate X_ classes for those tables, so we can move X_ to the same archive folder
(01:51:55) nwessel: why not deleting?
(01:52:04) nwessel: is that too radical?
(01:52:55) nwessel: I am the only non-developer here so I am probably fishing in troubled waters
(01:53:10) CarlosRuiz: yes - I think it's too radical - and I still want to keep open doors for compiere partners abandoning that ship  :-)
(01:53:26) nwessel: than I agree
(01:53:28) nwessel: :-)
(01:53:51) nwessel: good strategic thinking
(01:54:10) CarlosRuiz: ok - about posterita - I guess it will be opposition from trifon, but I haven't seen anybody else supporting that we need posterita in core
(01:55:39) hengsin: I think we probably should make this a documented practice for archive feature - inactive in the next major release, remove in subsequent major release
(01:55:59) nwessel: excellent idea hengsin
(01:56:05) nwessel: so it gets finally deleted
(01:56:33) hengsin: yes and it give enough time to prove no body care.
(01:57:06) CarlosRuiz: 3 minutes to go - do you think is better to discuss about posterita in forums?
(01:57:24) CarlosRuiz: BTW - practically posterita is closed source now
(01:57:37) nwessel: then there is no need to discuss, I think
(01:57:39) hengsin: yes, it is hosted and close source.
(01:58:49) trifon: for me is fine to drop posterita.
(01:59:06) nwessel: when a functionality is set to inactive and then deleted we put the wiki pages into a category "obsolete"
(01:59:12) trifon: we can keep it as module in adempeire.
(01:59:14) nwessel: and unlink from main page
(01:59:26) trifon: too radical obsolete.
(01:59:37) trifon: just not activly maintained is fine.
(01:59:46) trifon: would give chance people to test it.
(01:59:52) CarlosRuiz: ok - if trifon agrees then I guess we don't need to discuss it in forums
(01:59:52) CarlosRuiz: I think it's ok to move it to contributions or extensions
(02:00:03) trifon: i think it is fine to discuss in forums.
(02:00:11) trifon: to see what are people opinions.
(02:00:18) trifon: maybe we find some hidden users.
(02:00:39) viola [~viola@p57A1EC0E.dip.t-dialin.net] entered the channel.
(02:00:45) viola: hi all
(02:00:48) trifon: hi
(02:01:07) CarlosRuiz: ok nwessel - next meeting in two weeks
(02:01:12) nwessel: hi Jörg
(02:01:14) nwessel: ok Carlos
